Ok, here goes my adventure with Alli, the new weight loss drug. Alli is the same drug that was marketed as Xenical, but now it is available without a prescription and called "Alli". (Pronounced the same as the word allie, as in Great Britain is an allie of the United States) "Al" (like the guys name and "I" as in I am going to lost weight!

Alli works by blocking about 25% of the fat calories that you eat. Basically, your body doesn't absorb 25% of the fat and it is passed ( ok, don't be too grossed out!) out of your system basically the way it came in. So when you take Alli and eat a high fat meal, the fat is going to be passed on to Mr. Toilet and it looks something like oily goo in the tiolet. You know when you order pizza and there is that lake of grease or oil on top of the pizza and you feel the need to take that cheapo napkin at the pizza parlor and place it on top of the pizza to absorb all of the oil, well think of Alli as that napkin. Alli takes 25% of the fat from that pizza and slips it right on through to Mr. Toidy, and yep, you can see it sitting right there on top of the toidy water!

So you are thinking, yuck! I don't want to see that! Well that is part of the beauty of Alli. You are right , you don't want to see it, And believe me, it takes a little getting used to. I now, I took Xenical and Xenical is exactly the same product as Alli, just a different name and now no prescription required.

Here are some very helpful tips when taking Alli.

DO NOT EAT A LOT OF FAT!!!!! Alli is not a ticket to a high fat diet with no consequences.

I am going to give it to to you straight here.

If you eat a lot of fat, you are going to have to become best friends with Mr. Toidy! You are not going to want to leave Mr. Toidy for very long, in fact, you are going to want to strap Mr. Toidy to your keester!

Really, especially at first as your body gets used to Alli working in your system.

Let me give you a visual illustration ( no pics, I promise, just a mental visual)

Remember when you went to camp and there was always the kid who had "skid marks" in his underwear. Well.... that will be you if you eat high fat foods while taking Alli.

I know you are thinking, no way! Not worth it!

But wait!

If you look at Alli in a different perspective, look at Alli as your allie! ( I know, hokey, but a little cute!)

Basically Xenical worked for me this way. I knew that if I ate high fat foods, I was going to possibly have problems with the bathroom issue. So it worked as a preventative in a way. There was no way I was going to deal with the Hershey Squirts while going through my day, so Xenical ( Alli) kept me on the straight and narrow diet wise. I was basically forced to adopt a low fat, high fiber, healthy diet or pay the consequences to Mr Toidy. It really worked for me and I lost weight! Not only did I lose weight, I felt tons better because I was finally eating right and healthy.

In my Alli blog, I am going to give you tips and tricks on using this amazing diet aid to its full potential. I will let my readers know which foods to avoid, so that Mr Toidy is not an issue, which foods to eat. The best time of day to take Alli, how you can "cheat" a little in case you are going on a vacation or to a special dinner and don't want to deal with any bathroom issues.

I am not going to gloss over anything, I will give you the real dirt so you will know just what to expect when taking this new weight loss pill/drug.

Ans best of all... I will give you my weekly weight loss statistics, so you can see if this drug will work for you and just how effective it will be on a "real" person!
